You are invited to play a fun and crucial role in addressing the nation’s teacher shortage, while celebrating the teaching profession!

“America’s Got Teachers!” (AGT) is modeled after the hit show America’s Got Talent and is designed to cultivate a love of teaching in America’s youth. AGT is open to students in grades 3-12. (Junior Division Grades 3-7. Senior Division Grades 8-12.)

Do you have a student who has a passion or curiosity for education? Work with them to develop a 15-minute mini-lesson and teach it in your class. Then, submit their video to the Wesleyan Institute for Successful Educators (WISE) honors program for constructive feedback and encouragement from Nebraska Wesleyan University’s Education majors (along with some seriously cool swag)! You may sponsor more than one student.

A lucky few will even be invited to teach their lesson on the campus of Nebraska Wesleyan University in front of a panel of “celebrity educators” at our America’s Got Teachers Finals with a chance to score an impressive NWU scholarship. Pretty awesome, huh?

Our goal is to inspire future teachers to begin thinking about the field of education and spark a love for teaching. Please share this information with your students and encourage others in your school to participate.

This week, Bennington FBLA is celebrating ‘Go Green Week’. Every day this week we’ll be sharing a new fact about how students at BHS can learn to reduce, reuse, and recycle. Here’s today’s fact: The Nebraska Recycling Council hosts statewide "Rescue & Reuse" collection drives throughout the state to gather medical and assistive technology equipment, keeping functional electronics and goods out of local landfills by placing them directly back into the community. Let’s continue to Go Green Badgers!
